A bit of a nostalgic moment when buying this book and opening to the first chapter. I was expecting to find Harry in a room with Ron laughing, drinking butterbeer or maybe Harry with his sons. Telling them a story about his days at Hogwarts or maybe some tips on Quidditch. Expecting to read the beginning of a new adventure in the magical world of Harry Potter. But as I read the first pages I knew that this was only a dream. It finally hit me that I would never here about the troubles and craziness inside the walls of Hogwarts. I wouldn’t see words such as "expelliarmus" "golden snitch" "sherbert lemon" or "welcome back to Hogwarts". McGonagall would not be handing out detention to any trouble makers and peeves would not be tormenting any first years in this book. I wouldnt be hearing about kids running down the snow covered cobble stone streets of Hogsmeade. No one will be buying sweets from Honeydukes or enjoying a nice warm Butterbeer in the book. No, those days are gone and J.K. Rowling will be taking us on new adventures with new people that maybe we can grow a bond with. It will never fill the void and gap a HP book could. But being sucked in by Rowling’s words will still bring me a comfort and happiness no other author can do. As I may never get a new Harry Potter book but I still have the ones I read growing up, and even though I know them like the back of my hand re-reading them will always feel like my first time and have me sucked in from the start on the edge of my seat. Starting this book has made me realize that I may not have a new Harry Potter book but I still have Harry and the gang and I can always go back to see them whenever I want.
